Hailstorm hits Kohima

Kohima, January 16 (MExN):
A hailstorm hit the State Capital today at around 2:00 pm. However damage to property has not been reported. The town also witnessed inclement weather and the continuous drizzle compelled most of the denizens remain indoor. Meanwhile, the city witnessed frequent power breakdown today. However it was normalized in the evening.

Drivers write to administration

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 16 (MExN):
The Petroleum & land Transport Worker’s Federation of India (PLTWFI) has demanded that Dimapur district administration provide safety measures to its members. A release issued by K. Bhattarai, national secretary, information & publicity of the organization based at Beltola, Guwahati,  Assam today said the security measures provided earlier by the administration has been withdrawn leading to risks upon the drivers plying in Nagaland. It requested the reinstalling the Nagaland State Unit of the PLTWFI so that services can be provided to concerned drivers in times of need.  The Diphu based unit of the organization in Karbi Anglong also noted with concern the role of the Dimapur district administration in curbing monetary demands from various organizations.

AKM informs

Dimapur, January 16 (MExN):
The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has informed the 65th AKM Conference delegates to reach Ungma village by 2:00 pm on January 19 alongwith the membership fee and, light bed-rolls. In a press note issued by its president and general secretary stated that the AKM has extended its cordial invitation all the former AKM leaders to the 65th AKM General Conference at Ungma village and at the same time, requested them to submit their official names and the year in which they served AKM at the reception during the said conference.

PACYE Youth Brigade from Feb 3

Kohima, January 16 (MExN):
The Phek Area Christian Youth Endeavour (PACYE) will hold its Youth Brigade from February 3-6 at Lanezho Under the theme: “Seek the Lord and His Strength”. Minister for health & Family welfare Kuzholuzo Nienu would also grace the programme by inaugurating competitions event in February 4. The speaker of the programme will comprises Rev. D.N.Soho, Pastor Phek Town Baptist Church, Dr. Vevo Phesao, pastor Chakhesang Baptist Church (MH) Kohima and Sülüveyi Rakho, director, Harvest Ministry South East Asia. The workshop speakers will be Khriesazo Huire, director Eureka Life Foundation, Phek and Neichüte Doulo, Co-ordinator, Entrepreneurs Associates, Kohima.

Silver jubilee celebration of Kruvi Clement

Kohima, January 16 (MExN):
The silver jubilee celebration of Kruvi Clement, Catechist of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Chiechama village was held on January 9 last with Rev. Fr. Keduolhou George Dzeyie as the main celebrant. Speaking at the function, Rev. George stressed the importance and characteristics of Jubilee celebration. He expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Catechist Kruvi Clement, for being completed 25 years in the service of Lord Jesus Christ. He also urged the Catechist and congregation to rededicate themselves for the Glory of God in the days to come. Victor Vituonyü chaired the programme while Medo-u Mathew and Thenusonuo Teresa led scripture reading. Vote of thanks was delivered by Catechist Kruvi Clement and Ruokuolhoulie John, the president of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Chiechama Village; and followed by felicitation programme. Rev. Fr. Siby John, the Parish Priest of St. Dominic Church, Chiephobozou and a host of congregation from different denomination and village attended the programme.
