The Nagas are but one Nation and one people. The Nagas are a nation in their own right. Nagaland is a Sovereign State. NNC is the only Naga Political Institution. Each citizen of the Nagas belongs to NNC. No individual, Family, Group or Region can claim the legitimacy of NNC.
Agreed, there had been breaking down within the Nagas before 1975. Nevertheless, the signing of the Shillong Accord also without exception contributed to the further division among the people. The signatories of the Shillong Accord remain scot-free while the many thousands who refused to sign and shun the Indian Constitution were deprived of their lives. Those who have accepted the Shillong Accord, at this day question the legitimacy of the NNC/FGN and brand the ones who firmly uphold to the principles of NNC/FGN as ‘imposters’ and ‘renegades’. It is for the people to judge who the real ‘imposters’ or ‘renegades’ are.
As one Nation, it is necessary that there be unity to survive. If there is no unity and integrity, how can we continue to live as one Nation and one People? What is amiss with the Nagas “having reconciled on the basis of the historical and political rights”? It is apparent that only the agents of our Naga enemies would oppose the ‘Naga Concordant’.
On August 22, 2011, NSCN/GPRN, GPRN/NSCN and NNC/FGN issued the statement that “in the spirit of love, respect and understanding”, the Nagas “have agreed to strengthen and broaden the peace process, “Fellow Nagas, in the spirit of love let the past remain the past, and from today, let us toil for our common cause”.
Our Naga leaders have reconciled by the grace of God and His guidance from end to end. Let us together rise and build our Nation.
“Since DEATH and LIFE are in the power of the tongue….it is imperative to know how it may be healed”.
