In his booklet speech, Sazo mention that some people parade themselves as backward and take pride in it. He also opines that there was a time when this categorization help us & some still need to be aided so but today this label should be a matter of great shame & should not take us long before we move out of this category.
The word pride & great shame has been contended & critically refuted by some. But on close peruse the whole concept is nothing but only a challenge to the Chakhesang Gazzetted officers forum (CGOF) & the community concern to strive & excel as anybody in his position would dare to posit. His statement ‘some of our people still need to be aided by this status’ clearly depicts that he is not anti reservation in any way & thus any apprehension of arbitrary lifting the status is unfounded.
The statement ‘it should be a matter of great shame’ is only to profoundly impel & ignite the passion of the listeners to strive for excellence bearing in mind that backwardness is not something to be too proud off so that we become fairly advance to soon graduate out of this category. He did not say ‘its a shame’ thus would be arbitrarily lifted just for the sake of that without due assessment but only said ‘it should be a matter of great shame’ which is just a proposition & not binding. As a matter of fact it’s a rational prudence for any Tom, Dick & Harry to understand that backward label is not a thing cool enough to astutely take pride in it though why we are in the backward status & still need to be so is another matter which is out of necessity. Thus there is nothing much to fret over when sazo stated the same which is a challenge sensible enough by any responsible person to a sect of privileged people (CGOF) to remind them of their responsibility to the lesser privileged people so as to become advanced bearing in mind backwardness is not a very dignified status & in no way convey any cryptic disposition.
Also we cannot linger on backward brand for long & need to be progressive enough to become fairly advance soon & Sazo did not say anything wrong when he said ‘it should not take us long before we move out of this category’. Surely we can’t expect a leader of his stature to say backward label is a pride which would tantamount to encouraging backwardness & sent far more negative signal amounting to gross irresponsibility.
Its right & appropriate a dictum posited to elites forum like CGOF which is community oriented & literally a family platform for deliberation, of which open excoriation in media over trivial slur would only tantamount to display of our stark mentality in the face of other tribes. Though any constructive refutation is always appreciated yet creating an issue out of none issue is unwarranted & fit only into the scheme of some political demagogue.
Thus any further expostulation of the same would be tantamount to rhetorical surmise that would not only be innate & boring but grossly unwanted blowing things out of proportion over an innocuous gist which is not expedient. Rather its imperative to channel our attention towards issues more earnest like denial of backward funds, manipulation of jobs due for us at times of which many times court redress has been invoked & most importantly devise progressive ways to come at par with advance tribes at our own ends too.
