Rejoinder to citizens for PIL against mishandling of PM’s package

Our attention is drawn to the above-mentioned news item appearing at the Morung Express 03/06/06 by some citizens of Kohima. To the well-concerned citizens of Kohima, we would like to ask you how LSU was organized and how does it function? Do you know that LSU presidential meeting was convened on 29th May ’06 at 2 PM, wherein almost all the units were present viz: Nyiro Range Students Union, Chukitong Range Students Union, Englan Range Students Union, Wokha Circle Students Union, Wozhuro Range Students Union, Lotha Middle Range Students Union, Ralan Area Students Union. Lotha Lower Range Students Union was absent, but telephonically the General Secretary was informed that they would co-operate where genuine issue are debated and resolved. In the said meeting, the President and the Vice-President failed to attain the meeting.

Since the absence of the President and the Vice-President was deliberate, the units urged to conduct whatever business is to discuss. Accordingly, the Gen Secy. LSU conducted the meeting and discussed on the PM’s package. The house thoroughly debated upon the subject and came to the conclusion that whatever write-ups were make are found to be irrational and irrelevant as the same were made by some office bearer without the knowledge of the units. Further the issue did not come under the preview of student community. Hence the resolution to the effect was made unanimously.

In this connection, we call upon the citizens of Kohima not to be misled but be firm and audacious and write only after knowing the subject.
