Rejoinder to NPCC

Apropos the news item issued by the NPCC entitled “DAN un-mandated Government” which was carried in a section of the local daily on 20th October 2005.

The spiraling creation of commissions and omissions were the contributory factors for the Congress Party’s electoral debacle in the 2003 General Election. Why then did they blame others for their misdeed? It is extremely difficult for the people to reconcile with their failures and in refusing to admit such fiasco, the NPCC has innovated an infamous catchword “DAN un-mandated Government” and they have been putting all their efforts in harping on this malicious song.

With all luxuries and comforts the Congress Party sat in the power chair for so many years and ultimately the Party had borne an attitude of complacency towards the people of Nagaland and the resultant effect was the electoral defeat in the hands of DAN in the last General Election.

Such being the reality, the NPCC is advised to be more mature and learn how to reconcile with the realities. Acclimatizing themselves with the realities will be the panacea for their ailment.

Unlike Sports & Games, there is no runner-up (second prize) in Democratic elections and NPCC should wait for the next political tournament if they are really determined!

Secondly, under the DAN’s rule, the wave of developments has been sweeping the length and breath of Nagaland and having absorbed ourselves in restoring peace and delivering fast pace of developments, the question of ‘committing corruption’ as alleged by the NPCC time and again, has no place in our agenda but we only wish to add that ‘Corruption’ is their heritage and it is synonymous to Congress. Undeniably, Corruption is a Congress tag.

About allegation against DAN Government that “…..DAN is standing on artificial strength and would fall anytime……” truly one is bound to adopt a strategy of self-contentment with the allegory of “Fox and grapes” tale (sour grapes). Much to their disliking, the NPCC has to remain in the Opposition bench for all these five years.

Going by these facts, the NPCC’s persistent propaganda is merely a ploy to appease the Congress rank and file so as to check the Party’s erosion.

The ground reality is that the NPCC’s house has developed cracks. Filled with dissension and disenchantment, it has become a divided house today. Interestingly, not satisfied with two, they have compartmentalized themselves into three irreconcilable camps. This phenomenal political polarization within the Congress Party is expected to bring about heavy exodus to NPF not long from now.
