I am compelled to respond to Mr. K. Ritse’s rejoinder to K. Therie, “on inflation of voter list”, which appeared in local dailies on the 26th June. The desperate attempt to tarnish my Dad’s (K. Therie’s) sincere efforts because of political differences by Mr. K. Ritse was uncalled for. Perhaps, he has assented to PHARISEE’s view on crucifixion. In any case, I appreciate him for relating my dad’s case with that of Jesus, even if it’s a bit misconstrued.
Merely tracing back the origination of voter list inflations and blaming the past to make excuse that it is impossible to take measures only reveal that he is favoring the existence of dishonesty. Moreover, tipping that effort to reform would only lead to the origination indicates hypocrisy. Thus, such tips can, but only come from idle person who have no concern for society’s future welfare.
Inflation and erroneous E/roll is an outcome of ignorance and intentional manipulation of the past and it cannot be attributed solely to politicians. Everyone makes mistake and amend with it and then takes initiative steps to correct it. In doing so and to highlight such matters, my dad made appeals to all sensible organizations/bodies working for the benefit of our society to contribute their effort towards this cause. That’s not shifting blame or washing hands but simply being human so where is the question of washing hand? According to Mr. Ritse, my dad cannot seek the intervention of Church, may I ask why?
Reformation no doubt is derived by mass participation but the fact that, it is transpired by ideology that reflects truth, change and, better future cannot be ignored. So, if punitive steps are taken on the basis of such principles, aren’t such steps worthy of encouragement and cooperation? Every reformation or transformation has a root cause and Pfutsero constituency cannot be an exception from it. In fact, it could become a role model constituency for others if the drive is supported and implemented correctly. Political parties are at liberty to take part or not. There is no question of particularizing booth(s), pocket(s) or section(s) for target, there is also no question of targeting anyone. The exercise is to make corrective measures to bring out correct E/Rolls in accordance with law.
It is most unfortunate that Mr. Ritse choose to tag the entire public along with him by posing himself behind the public image and arguing that it is a matter of public importance and that public will only look towards monetary benefits coming from various Governmental schemes, quotas and grants e.t.c,. He has divested himself of his Christian ethical values and clearly proven that his arguments were made only for fear of losing worldly benefits. So, I doubt that the public will fall in line with his views.
Mr. K. Ritse, had agreed to the good intension and the facts and figures pointed out by my dad. However, he held that, despite such individual initiator who speaks the truth, there will be no one to rescue them. Perhaps ‘truth’ or ‘good intention’ are indigestible to him. As for my dad, his worries are always for the welfare of the people and not his own so, I believe that the spirit of truth will, one day bailout his aspiration. Therefore Mr. K. Ritse may rest assure as my dad will not appeal for ‘belling’ from anyone.
