Phek | March 9 : To have the stretch of 45 kms road from Phek to Chozuba via Thuvopisu road, renovated, has been a wish for so long for commuters from Phek to Kohima. The renovation would mean easing the duration of traveling to a great extend that lays unattended for more than five decades. Despite several assurances to enhance the road connectivity of the said lane by elected legislators from 19th Phek A/C, it turned out to be empty promises and indeed leaves the commuters, especially the people of the area to a state of frustration.
The present Health & Family Welfare Minister Azo Nienu who was elected under 19th A/C for two consecutive terms came to the rescue of the commuters, relieving the long pending tensions of the people by renovating the road, where currently the work is on progress enabling vehicles to ply on the road. He said the entire community of the district including its neighboring district-Zunheboto will benefit a lot after the road is properly commissioned.
