DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 5 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) Public Grievances Department (PGD) has extended full support and cooperation towards the demand of the United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) for cancellation of teachers transferred with post and detachment of teachers from VIPs (MLA), DEO and SDEOs within Sangtam jurisdiction.
A press statement received from NPCC-PGD said the genuine representations submitted by the USSC dated 30/10/2021, 19/01/2022, 8/06/2023 and 8/08/2023 are yet to be addressed. It said the shortage of teachers subject wise within Sangtam jurisdiction include- Hindi-28, Science-17, Mathematics-19, General Teacher -22, Computer Instructor- 2, Physical Education- 3, Mother Tongue- 9, Drawing – 1, English- 12, Graduate Teacher- 1, Primary teacher- 4, Asst. Head Teacher -3, Head Teacher -2, Teachers transferred with post -63.
While highlighting this, the NPCC questioned the government of the day as to how a school is supposed to function without subject teachers. Also teachers are meant to be at their place of posting and not to be attached to MLAs or VIPs, it pointed out.
While appreciating Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor for School Education for showing real concern for the school education department and his willingness to address the issues to the present day government, the NPCC has reminded the government to take these issues with top priority for the welfare of students in Nagaland.
