The appointment of former CAO Kyong Region Mr.K. Chenio Tungoe, of Wokha Village was not made own his own merits, but on the merit of Wokha Village as a whole. The GPRN and the authorities hoped that he would do good works as CAO to enhance the name of the Village and the NSCN/GPRN. But the good intention and hope of the authorities of GPRN were completely shattered when he began to carry on his nefarious activities in full swing with his self styled administration of the Kyong region. As such, the GPRN authorities gave him written as well as verbal admonishments to mend his ways. But he remained defiant. At last a time came when his attitudes, corrupt practices and his close co-operation to anti-socials like ban drugs peddlers and liquor traffickers could not be tolerated by the GPRN authorities, He (Chenio) was suspended through a cabinet resolution.
Many senior and high ranking Officers of NSCN/GPRN have been and are being suspended and discharged even on some commissions and omissions and their parts. Then who is K.Chenio Tungoe to complain and defy the Government order?? As per his (Chenio) activities he should have got harsher punishment as he deserved. But the GPRN exercised leniency in his case. Even then he began to insult and challenge the GPRN authorities when he was suspended from Service on 22nd August 2012. He began malicious campaigns against his leaders and still acted as CAO. He refused to give charge of the Office to the newly appointed CAO to replace him. Chenio Tungoe organized a gang headed by his father Khonpemo Tungoe and his brother Nkhao Tungoe who is president of Wokha Circle Students Union led the infamous gang in every objectionable deeds. They first attacked the house of Mr. W.E.Tsopoe, member of the Steering Committee, NSCN, Dr.Yanyi, Sectional Officer and thirdly they attacked the house of R.T.Tsanglao, Dy.Kilonser two times and destroyed his house and properties including his Official Vehicle.
It is too much below the standard of GPRN to write something against ordinary man like Chenio and go to the press. But the GPRN is constrained to make the people understand the position of the GPRN and his anti-social and anti-party activities in response to his gangs press write-ups.
Mr. K.Chenio Tungoe is carrying on his nefarious activities and acts of defiance through the encouragement and instigation of some state politicians and 2/3 black sheep among NSCN cadres to destabilize the Kyong Regional Administration which the GPRN authorities should consider the matter seriously.
After serious persuasions from different corners he handed over the charge to the new CAO after three weeks of his suspension. The defiant acts of Chenio, because of his suspension are unprecedented and a new thing in the history of NSCN/GPRN.
