Peren, August 18 (MExN): Total restriction of inter-district movement in Peren district will continue for another week with effect from August 20, the Peren District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19 resolved during their weekly meeting on August 17.
The task force also resolved that it would continue to restrict “unnecessary public movement” as per government orders, till further notification, according to an update from the DIPR.
However certain categories have been exempted from the restrictions. These include patients referred for treatment outside the district by a competent authority, transportation of essential commodities, agriculture products and individuals handling transportation, government servants or agency on duty and transportation of central and state construction workers and materials, in addition to all other categories exempted as per the State Government’s standard operating procedures.
The task force meanwhile informed that individuals who need COVID-19 testing but do not fall under the ambit of free testing can avail paid testing provisions, depending on the availability of sample testing kits. An amount of Rs 1,500 per test will be charged for those individuals, it added.
It also stated that sampling of Assam Rifles personnel in huge numbers has become problematic due to shortage of testing kits from the supply source. As such, it decided to apprise higher authorities for remedial measures.
The next DTF meeting is scheduled to be held on August 24, at 12:00 noon, unless rescheduled, the DIPR report stated.
