Dimapur, January 14 (MExN): Asukhuto Village Baptist Church (AVBC) bid farewell programme cum thanksgiving service of Rev. Dohekhu Achumi on attainment of 50 years of his God's Ministry on January 13 at Church premises.
The jubilee was attended by Church leaders and citizens of Vekuho Old/New Village, Asukhuto Town Atoizu with Rev. Hukugha Zhimo Executive Secretary SBAK Nito Mount and Rev. Ahoto Awomi Evangelist SBAK Nito Mount as special guest.
Rev. Dohekhu Achumi Pastor AVBC while delivering his keynote address expressed gratitude to AVBC for the jubilee celebration and acknowledgment of his service and extended jubilee blessings to the congregation.
Rev. Dohekhu Achumi born in the year 1940 at Asukhuto Village, dedicated himself to Christ and served as Pastor under SBAK in the year 1969 at Khewoto Village Baptist Church till 1983. In the year 1984, he also served as youth leader and 1985 again he served as Pastor AVBC till January 2019 for 34 years. Licence in the year 1981 under SBAK Aizuto, received Ordained in the year 2000 under Executive Secretary Rev. Khehovi Shohe SBAK Nito Mount. During his 50 Years of his service he baptised 187 followers of Christ, Minister 30 believers of holy matrimony ceremony.
In the occasion Rev. Hukugha Zhimo Secretary SBAK congratulated Dohekhu Achumi referring to the Bible he said that Reverend has successfully succeeded his service and received awards from God of his noble service on attainment of 50 Years. He also said that Reverend Dohekhu Achumi has strong faith in God and cite a living example to the believers as a true disciple of Christ. Earlier, he released the souvenir of 50 Years Golden Jubilee of Rev. Dohekhu Achumi.
In the programme, Inoka khuju Pastor Vekuho New Baptist Church pronounced the invocation, farewell song was presented by Toli Aye and friends, scripture reading by Khekivi Youth leader, short message was delivered by Rev Ahoto Awomi Evangelist SBAK Nito Mount, Tsungato Aye GB, Lupishe Aye, Atoizu Area Church Leaders Fellowship (AACLF) and Tokishe Deacon Chairman. The programme was chaired by Vilitoli Associate Pastor Women and Aristo Aye, B.Th as Secretary followed by benediction by Khetovi Chophy Pastor Vekuho Old Baptist Church and jubilee feast after the programme.
