Mokokchung, October 5 (MEXN): Revenant FC clinched the title in the 35+ Mokokchung Football League (MFL) Season 6, concluding on October 4 at the Rempukong Astro Turf, Ungma securing their championship win for a record sixth time.
The self-funded league, operating under the motto ‘Fitness, Friendship, and Fellowship’, featured six teams: Revenant FC, New Ecclesia, Wasang FC, Terokroker FC, Trebuchet FC, and Nova SC. New Ecclesia secured the Runner-up position.
The tournament, which commenced on April 12, saw a total of 75 matches played. Each match recognized a Man of the Match, who was felicitated with gift hampers sponsored by Sentiyanger, a member of the 35+ MFL management team and the owner of Revenant FC.
In a significant announcement, the 35+ MFL committee revealed the introduction of a new tournament, the 35+ MFL Super Cup. The six participating teams will be divided into two pools, with the top two teams from the pool stage competing for the Super Cup.
The Super Cup is scheduled to begin on October 11 with the final match set for November 8. The season will officially conclude with a grand closing and award ceremony on November 9. Further details regarding the event will be shared in due course, the committee stated.
The 35+ MFL is a community-based initiative comprising individuals from diverse professional backgrounds, including Heads of Departments, businessmen, politicians, and pastors, united by the shared goals of promoting fitness, friendship, and fellowship through football.
