Longleng, September 4 (MExN): The Chief Medical Officer's Office in Longleng conducted a district-level review meeting and orientation on routine immunization, focusing on improving health indicators and addressing operational challenges.

Chaired by Dr Tiasunep, CMO of Longleng, the meeting held at the CMO conference hall, Longleng on September 1 aimed to facilitate cross-learning and strategize for more effective implementation of key health initiatives in the district.

He requested all to put more efforts into improving those health indicators which are lacking behind despite all their efforts. “This review meeting is a good opportunity to reflect on our performance of the previous years and plan for the coming days,” Dr Tiasuneo added. 

Dr Imtijungshi Aier, District Programme Officer (RCH/UIP), presented and reviewed the Routine Immunization status, including percentages of zero-dose children, and highlighted challenges in achieving immunization coverage. The Reproductive Child Health (RCH) program was also discussed.

He requested all the participants to give efforts to access the progress and strategize for the effective implementation of key health initiatives.

Presentations were made on various national health programs, including the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (NTEP), Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), and Health Management Information System (HMIS) reporting by Dr Imtijungshi Aier DPO (RCH/UIP), Dr Mannan phom DVPO, Dr Imsongienla Epidemiologist, Viroli Sangtam DPM, Christina VCCM and Taula Phom RBSK.

Discussions were held on the challenges, opportunities and way forward.
