Reviving the good traditional practices, some wrestlers from Kohima village recently took a day out and assisted paddy transplantation at Pele Khezhie’s paddy field on the bank of Dzü River along Kohima-Chakhabama road.

It has reflected a goodwill gesture in helping one another during paddy transplantation, as practiced by forefathers.
Acknowledging the service of those wrestlers, first class contractor Pele Khezhie subscribed their participation in the agricultural activities as a morale boost to the farming community as well.

During 2020, Khezhie (President, Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers Union (NCSU), apart from his normal contract works, forayed into agri & allied activities near Dzüdza river of Viphoma village in response to the call of Nagaland government to improve the state’s economy through agricultural activities.

He maintained that our forefathers survived through the farming activities, for which, we have to get back to fertile soil for self-reliant and also to boost the state’s economy.

COVID-19 pandemic may have disheartened many but agricultural activities have to continue, he said.
