Khezhakeno (Phek dist) May 25 (MExN): Reacting to allegations made against the DAN government as being pro-NSCN (IM), Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio today categorically said, “The question of closeness with the NSCN-IM does not arise.”
Inaugurating a rural police station here, Rio lambasted the allegations by saying that the government will support whichever groups be it NSCN (K), FGN/NNC which enter into political dialogue with the Government of India.
“The state government has also strongly condemned the fratricidal killings and senseless killings amongst the different undergrounds factions,” Rio said.
Rio further appealed to all the over ground organizations to maintain unity with one voice and work together.
Rio stressed on the need to emerge united within the houses of the overgrounds and work towards the unification of the undergrounds. “Unless the over grounds unite, our appeal for unification and reconciliation of underground groups will not be effective,” Rio said. He also called upon the civil societies, NGOs and churches to work together to bring about unity and reconciliation, and at the same time appealed to different parties to understand and reason together.
Rio said that he wants the religious platform to play an important role in the unification process.
