Dimapur May 10 (MExN): Reacting to speculation of a coup by “dissidents” opportunist to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s visit to Tel Aviv, Israel, the NPF made known its revulsion that a “few vested interests, parochial handful politicians in connivance with rumor mongers indulged themselves in undesirable and disdain-politics by taking undue advantage of the Chief Minister’s absence.”
Maintaining that the mission of the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues to attend the Agritech 2006 Conference in Israel had its roots in the ‘successful’ launching of the North East Agri-Expo at Dimapur March last, the NPF in a release from R Paphino, Press Secretary asserted that the Government of India was “so moved” and impressed with the manner the state government had organized the Expo, resulting in the Tel Aviv trip. “The remarkable achievement and magnificent progress report was the passport for our dynamic Chief Minister to represent not only the people of Nagaland but the entire North East region to an international AgriTech conclave which should be considered as a unique and golden opportunity for all the Nagas” the release asserted.
The NPF also reminded that, with what it called, the dynamism of the DAN government machineries within a short span of time, had catapulted the state to dizzy heights which should have been appreciated and acknowledged by any sensible and magnanimous Naga. “In fact, Mr Rio represents the Nagas in Tel Aviv and not even an inch of his individual self” the NPF asserted while questioning the “super-interest” of a particular local newspaper in churning out irrelevant mathematical calculation of MLAs political inclination and integrities. “We leave it to the Nagas to have their own judgments” the NPF let the matter be while reposing faith in the leadership of Rio that nothing will happen to the NPF-led DAN government which would “last its full term comfortably and also eying beyond 2008.”
