Suruhuto, January 8 (MExN): Calling on students to raise their aspirations, Deputy Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly S Toiho Yeptho has urged them to move beyond being identified merely as Gen Z and strive to become “Gen Z Alpha,” a generation defined by excellence and leadership.
Yeptho was addressing the opening session of the 66th Biennial Conference of the Suruhuto Range Students’ Union (SRSU), which commenced at Sapotimi Village, where he attended as the Special Guest on January 7.
Emphasising the role of students in nation-building, the Deputy Speaker highlighted various developmental activities being undertaken in the Suruhuto range and stressed the importance of discipline, focus, and continuous self-improvement in a rapidly evolving and competitive environment.
He encouraged students to aim higher, develop leadership qualities, and avoid settling for average performance, noting that the present generation faces both greater opportunities and challenges.
Altogether, 16 students’ units from across the Suruhuto range are participating in the biennial conference, which will conclude on January 9.
According to an SRSU release, Yeptho has been annually sponsoring five aspirants from the constituency to prepare for the Civil Services examinations, reflecting his sustained commitment to youth empowerment and education.
