Road connectivity concern talk in Wokha DPDB

Wokha, February 11 (DIPR): The monthly Wokha DPDB meeting for the month of February was held on the 9th at DC Conference Hall, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Rovilatuo Mor.
The meeting begun with a review of the last meeting minutes. With regard to improvement of road connectivity from Mokokchung via Wokha, Newland, the Deputy Commissioner requested the EE (PWD) R&B, Baghty Division to have an early meeting with Mokokchung EE for further course of action. Rural road connectivity at lower Range was once again deliberated by the board, as per the directive the EE Baghty Div submitted detail road map of the area and submitted proposal for new link roads, which was approved by the board and requested the EE to submit the Concept Note in the next meeting.
Taking serious note of the deplorable road condition of Wokha-Bokajan road the board directed EE (PWD) R&B to give detail status report. In reply the EE informed the board that, no labourers, technicians were placed or attached against the road for maintenance, he further informed that no funds was also allotted for maintenance during the year 2009/10. The chairman directed the EE for deputation of laborers for clearance and maintenance of the road at the earliest and asked him to submit requirements for maintenance to the board in the next meeting. As per the resolution adopted during the last meeting the chairman once again reminded all Officers to put up/install CFL Bulbs in all government offices and government residents under Wokha District latest by February 2011.
During the meeting the board approved for recognition of West Valley English School at Yampha. The board also resolved to request the Wokha-Merapani road contractor/company to finish up the remaining portion of 1.8 KM and to request the concern department to sanction additional fund for the same. Deputy Commissioner informed all the members that, in the next meeting important agendas discussed during the last annual year will be reviewed, he therefore, requested all board members to compulsorily attend the meeting and come prepared for deliberation.
