Nagaland has become one of a polluted state in India. In Nagaland, pollution is caused primarily by dust particles generated from the highways and main roads which can be termed as "Road pollution". It sounds funny but the pollution caused by dust particles generated from the highways and main roads are not less than the pollution caused from fuel these days. As we are all aware, dust effect human health severely such as asthma attacks, hay fever, sneezing, etc. The pedestrians as well as travelers are affected by dust generated from roads. This is evident from the fact that roads in Nagaland have become too dusty in almost all parts of the state due to non paving of highways and roads. It not only deteriorates our health but also degrade the conditions of the vehicles.
Therefore, the government must take necessary action in building good roads to the people at the earliest. It has been six months since the government make promise to build good roads in 60 days. It is also disgraceful to see that the state is celebrating the so called international Hornbill festival without having good roads.
The people of Nagaland traveling in the state, both the government and private vehicles are also urged to drive carefully especially in an unpaved roads. The faster you drive, the more dust you cause that severely affects the pedestrians and passers-by. May our people take this seriously and take necessary actions for the interest of all. Let this festive season be favorable to everyone.
