Rotary Club continues effort for Polio eradication

Dimapur, April 13 (MExN): Rotary Club of Dimapur during the current Rotary year 2012-13 through the support of the RI Public Image and Relation Program has installed one hoarding at Tragopan hotel junction near Dimapur District Sports Complex. 

The hoarding was unveiled on November 3, 2012. The object of this programme was to spread the message of Rotary’s continuous effort for Polio eradication from the face of the Earth and create an awareness of Rotary initiatives for international peace and studies on conflict resolution. “Let the people of the community become the brand ambassadors of Rotary and carry the message back home about the Rotary service that is meant for the people,” Rtn OP Gupta states in a press release.

The Club was admitted to the membership of Rotary International on February 6, 1972 and since then has carried numerous humanitarian programmes for the betterment of the community. Over the last 40 years, the Club has addressed various need of the community through programmes undertaken in times of natural calamities, health care, eye operation camp, adoption of school and orphanage, artificial limbs and calibers fitting and distribution camp, working for the old age people by providing wheelchair and tricycle, polio eradication camp, literacy programme, working for the upliftment of the orphans and street children etc.
