DIMAPUR, JULY 3 (MExN): The 40th Installation ceremony of Rotary Club of Dimapur and the 36th for Rotaract Club of Dimapur was held Sunday, July 3. Rotarian Manas Choudhuri, a former governor of Rotary International District (RID) 3240 was the chief guest at the ceremony held at Rotary Centre, Midland. Choudhuri was also the former editor of the Shillong Times, a Padmashree and a sitting legislator of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
Akokla Pongen Lucy replaced Sanjay Kumar Jain as president of the club for the tenure 2011-12 while Om Prakash Gupta took over from Manoj Kumar Jain as secretary. The club also gave away vocational awards to persons for their outstanding contribution to public service. Rotary Club of Dimapur falls under RID 3240.
