The department of horticulture has projected Rs. 36.00 crores, for implementation of the various Horticulture Technology Mission (HTM) schemes during 2007-08.
“This amount is yet to be approved by the Ministry, which is normally finalized at the Central Level Steering Committee meeting, convened by the Ministry in April of every new financial year,” according to Annual Administrative Report of the department tabled at the recently concluded assembly session.
The report stated that the projected amount will be utilized for carrying on the various area expansion activities of the focus crops as well as the integrated developmental activities.
As per the GoI’s focus for the 11th Five Year Plan, the TM-NE will to a large extend concentrate on enhancing and strengthening the existing plantation areas, it said adding that focus will also be on implementing and imparting irrigation technologies, nursery management, protected cultivation, intensified cultivation and quality control.
