Kohima, December 14 (MExN): The Rengma Selo Zi (RSZ) along with Rengma Village Council Chairman Forum (RVCCF), District Administration and police conducted a joint inspection along the ongoing National Highway 61 widening stretch.
The team, while appreciating the speedy progress of work at package -2 between Tseminyu town and Wokha Border has appealed to the general public and individual for more cooperation.
In a press release, Kenneth Kath President RSZ stated that the team on finding some obstruction on the work site, particularly eviction of standing building and structures forwarded the finding to the Administration and Department concerned to coordinate and issue an eviction order at the earliest so that work can be expedited.
The visiting team also requested all the individuals who have been paid compensation within the highway to cooperate at the earliest so that any forceful legal action from the competent authority can be avoided. The release further appealed the law enforcement agencies to immediately intervene for smooth completion of the project.
The team is dismayed by the slow progress of work at Package -1 and requested all the village council and landowners within Henbenji to Tseminyu area to cooperate, adding the findings for slow progress was due to non availability of dumping sites. It further requested all the Rengma Village Councils and individual land owners to extend all possible help for the completion of work before next monsoon season.
Meanwhile, the team has cautioned both the Construction Company and department concerned that any sub grade quality of workmanship and manipulation of project work on the ongoing project will not be compromised. lt further appealed the department to clear the pending payments to any individuals or others.
The release added that the department and construction firm are asked to take up the matter on priority and “warned that any delay tactics and manipulation found in the process, the responsible agency or Official shall be held responsible.”
The visiting team contributed food grains to the victim of the natural calamity which hit more than 30 households and destroyed vast agricultural area at Kasha Lowrin area under Tseminyu, during the recent monsoon. Earlier, in a reception at Phenwhenyu Village Council hall, the Kasha Lowrin Public Union acknowledged the RSZ and RVCCF for the good Samaritan service to the people.
