Wokha, November 22 (DIPR): The board meeting of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) was held on November 3 in the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner Wokha.
In the meeting, the following agendas were discussed: In connection with introduction of city bus at Wokha Town, the RTA members decided to introduce city bus at Wokha town and city bus permits will be issued with the capacity of 23 seats four permits initially. The city bus will ply on the following routes: Route no.1 - Police Point to Zero Point, Vankhosung. Route no. 2 - Police Point to Longsa Gate. Route no. 3 - Police Point to Hospital/BBC. Route no. 4 - Police Point to Police Reserve. The board also decided that permits would be issued only for brand new vehicles complying with the city bus specification.
The board also decided to discuss the requirements of Zonal Taxi Permit in the DPDB meeting under Wokha district with a proposal.
In regard to taxi fare hike from Chukitong to Wokha, the board deliberated the matter thoroughly as per the complain letter received from GB Union, Chukitong Range however due to the absent of the Wokha Local Taxi Union in the meeting it could not come to a final decision. Further, it has been decided that a show cause notice will be served to the Taxi Union for: unauthorized fare hike, which was not approved by RTA and failing to attend the RTA board meeting twice including on November 3 in spite of the notice served.
For checking of vehicles, the RTA Wokha has decided to form a transport committee for checking all categories of vehicles under Wokha district both commercial and non-commercial. The board decided that tentative routine checkup would be followed once in every month. The committee consists of Administrative Department, MV, Dept, OC, Police Station, and OC Traffic Wokha. The checking will be conducted as per the prescribe MV Rules and Regulations. The committee consists of the following members: SDO (C) Nokchasashi; District Transport Officer, MV, Department; Motor Vehicles Inspector, MV, Department; Enforcement Inspector, MV, Department; OC, Police Station, Wokha and O.C, Traffic, Wokha.
The RTA Wokha also decided to enforce proper checking of vehicle, conduct mobile courts in the respective administrative outpost, within the Wokha district under the supervision of the local administrative Officer.
