RTI info on Wokha-Bokajan road demanded

Dimapur, March 12 (MExN): The Lotha Hoho of Dimapur has demanded information from the Chief Engineer of PWD (Roads & Bridges) concerning the status of work and upkeep of the tenacious Wokha-Bokajan road. The ‘hoho’ has sought information under the Right to Information Act. The organization is demanding information concerning the said road as it has not been maintained since the state government took over the road’s upkeep, the ‘hoho’ stated in the application, a copy of which was received here today.

The ‘hoho’ has sought details about the government’s order for ‘handing and taking over’ and “who has taken over the road and by whose order the road was taken over.” Likewise, details are sought concerning “the joint inspection report of taking over and handing over of the road” and what the condition of the road was at the time of it being taken over by the PWD.

Further, the ‘hoho’ has queried on the reasons the road is not being ‘maintained.’ The department is asked to furnish year-wise budget allocations since ‘taking over of the road’ and details about “who is looking after the road, staff position appointed against the road.”
