Dimapur, July 25 (MExN): A sensitization-cum-interacting session on Right to Information (RTI) for Department of Agriculture was held on July 21 at the Directorate Conference hall. The dignitaries other than the Department officers were Lalhuma I.A.S (Retd) Chief Information Commissioner, Kevileno, State Information Commissioner and officers from NEPED and Bamboo Mission, informed a press note received here.
The programme was chaired by HK Khulu IAS, APC & Principal Secretary (Agri) & Appellate Authority. AY Ovung, Director of Agriculture welcomed the officials and made a power point presentation on departmental organizational set up. Power point presentations were also made by NEPED and Bamboo Development.
Lalhuma, IAS (Retd) made a power point presentation on RTI. He urged the officers to prepare themselves to play a greater role due to the emergence of Lokpal Bill which is interlinked with RTI. Its application will be increased by leaps & bounds in the near future and cautioned the PIOs and APIOs to be sincere in providing information at the right time and to avoid any unnecessary delays.
