Pfutsero, September 3 (MExN): A Rural Mart for Kade Cooperative Farmer Producer Organisation Ltd. (KCFPO) was inaugurated on September 2 at KBC Building, Pfutsero town in Phek district to strengthen farmer producer organisation.
It was inaugurated by Dr. Pritpal Kaur, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Phek.
Dr Kaur emphasized the significance of ensuring business sustainability and stressed on the need for fair and appropriate pricing to secure long-term success.
She encouraged the FPO members to work collectively towards building a resilient and self-sustaining farmers’ organization.
Dr Esther T Longkumer, Chief Technical Officer, KVK Phek, Porba and Vizol Kera, Branch Manager, Nagaland State Cooperative Bank, Pfutsero delivered short speech. They collectively acknowledged the importance of the Rural Mart in strengthening local farmers’ access to markets.
Rutho Nyuwi from NEIDA shared an overview of the Kade FPO and its initiatives.
The Rural Mart has been supported by NABARD under the Gramya Vikas Nidhi and implemented by KCFPO, one of the Farmer Producer Organisations promoted by NEIDA and NABARD under the Central Sector Scheme.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Julia Soto, CEO of KCFPO Ltd while welcome address was delivered by Dr. Imsunaro, AGM (DD), NABARD, Phek.
The Rural Mart is envisioned not only as a business outlet but as a platform of hope, opportunity, and prosperity for the farming community.
With the participation of officials, local institutions, and around 20 FPO members, the inauguration marked a significant milestone in empowering farmers and enhancing rural livelihoods in the region.
