
Kohima, March 19 (MExN): Under Prime Minister’s package, ten rural tourism projects have been taken up in a phased manner in the districts of Mon, Wokha, Mokokchung, Phek and Zunheboto at the total cost of Rs. 1229.56 lakhs of which some initial amount has already been released. This was stated in the Annual Administrative Report of the tourism department tabled in the budget session by Parliamentary secretary Kaito yesterday.
Longwa, Mon district: Rural Tourism Project at Longwa at the cost of Rs. 50 lakhs, two cottages, two public toilets, craft centre and approach road connecting the major establishment.
Chui and Shangnyu, Mon district: Total project cost for both at Rs. 50.lakhs, Rural Tourism Project at Shangyu village are a cottage, public toilet, craft centre, preservation of ancient log drum platform and internal road connectivity. At Chui village, two cottage, public toilet, approach pathway, internal road connectivity and rainwater harvesting.
Old Rephyim, Wokha district: Two cottages (Two bedded each), multi-purpose hall, approach road and footpath.
Chuchuyimlang, Mokokchung district: Project cost Rs. 50 lakhs; two cottages, restaurant with kitchen museum, development of parking area, landscaping and illumination.
Sangratsu, Mokokchung district: being constructed at the cost of Rs. 50 lakhs, three cottages six bedded, restaurant with kitchen stores and toilet, development of parking area, upgradation of cultural ground with rostrum, landscaping and illumination.
New Thewati, Phek district: Cleaning of Shilloi lake, three cottages, children’s park, approach road cutting new road from main road to the lake and view point over looking Shilloi lake.
Phek old village, Phek district: Renovation of British Inspection (Dak), Bungalow; four bedded guesthouse with black topped approach road.
Satoi and Tizu village, Zunheboto district: Ten bedded lodge at Satoi village with a welcome gate/approach road, min resort at Tizu and Tsutha river junction, a park and rest house, view point at Chikhu Mountain and six bedded accommodation cottages.
Chukiye Village (Ghosu Bird Sanctuary), Zunheboto district: Cultural/ multi purpose office building for village council of 500 sitting capacity, accommodation of three bedded capacity and watch tower for a bird sanctuary with approach road to the village.
Lhuvishe Old village, Zunheboto district: Watch tower at the highest point of Aghunato area, three cottages with six bedded accommodation and a small park with security fencing.
Other schemes under the same head are construction of tourist hub (Major) at Kohima and Minor Hubs at Dimapur and Zunheboto.
