A sad affair!

The land groans Nature in spate Inundating roads And houses Low lying lands No more on sight Highways swept aside Like old sores That never heal Not just one But everywhere A bridge collapsed Precious lives lost Lifelines snapped More bridges will crumble Travel an ordeal Essentials becoming scares Ordinary living Becoming extraordinary Power flickers Low voltage no voltage When it rains When it is dry Yet bills are sent And pay you must And if you do You do also For those who don't Who only hook up Power dept turns blind Helpless to act Perhaps unwilling Fend for yourself If you can or perish   Where are our leaders? The ones we elected Or who bought our votes In high end SUVs Crossing our roads with impunity With not a worry All children abroad Marrying abroad Those who live In dizzying heights Of filthy lucre and pomp

These jokers are at Kaziranga!
