Kiphire, March 30 (MExN): Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Takatemjen Pongen, NCS on March 30 inaugurated a reverse osmosis (RO) filtered drinking water facility at Agape Higher Secondary School in Kiphire district in the presence of students and faculty.
Speaking on the occasion, Pongen said the district administration has installed over 70 filtered water facilities in government schools under various schemes, adding that Agape Higher Secondary School is among the few private institutions to provide such a facility.
Highlighting the importance of safe drinking water, he encouraged students to utilise the facility for their well-being and commended the school for the initiative.
He also urged students to pursue continuous learning, noting that consistent effort leads to personal growth and success.
The school administration said the project was undertaken in view of rising temperatures and long-felt need for safe drinking water. The campus has a rainwater storage capacity of one lakh litres and a separate 10,000-litre reserve for drinking purposes. The RO plant has a filtration capacity of 1,000 litres per hour.
