Sainik School Punglwa informs on AISSEE 2026

Peren, October 23 (MExN): The Sainik School Punglwa, Peren, Nagaland has informed on the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2026 for admission in Sainik Schools in the country conducted every year. 

The entrance exam for exam session 2026-27 will be an OMR based exam. The date of exam will be announced on the National Testing Agency (NTA) website later, stated an update received here. 

Sainik School Punglwa, Nagaland is a premier institution of Ministry of Defence dedicated primarily to the people of Nagaland. Therefore, 67% of the seats are reserved for boys and girls of home state and 33% seats are open for the boys and girls of rest of the country. The primary aim of this School is to prepare cadets for an illustrious career in the Armed Forces of our country as officers.

Approximately 120 (108 Boys + 12 Girls) seats in Class VI and 39 (36 Boys + 03 Girls) seats for Class IX are likely to be available for admission in Sainik School Punglwa during the Academic Session 2026-27. Actual number of seats may vary depending upon the number of pass out and withdrawals.

The admission will be made purely on merit basis through the aforesaid All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination and subject to medical fitness of the candidate. 15%, 7.5% and 27% of the total seats are reserved for SC, ST and OBC (NCL) categories respectively. 25% seats out of the balance seats are reserved for the wards of Defence personnel including ex-servicemen. 

Boys & Girls born between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2016 will be eligible to take admission in Class VI and Boys & Girls born between April 1, 2011 and March 31, 2013 will be eligible to take admission in Class IX during the academic session 2026-27.

Applicant can apply online on the school website https://sainikschoolpunglwa.nic.in and NTA website https://exams.nta.nic.in from October 10 to 30 and last date of submission of online form will be October 30.
