Sainik School Punglwa marks I-Day with patriotic fervour

PUNGLWA, AUGUST 15 (MExN): Sainik School Punglwa commemorated the 79th Independence Day with fervour and patriotic spirit.

The event was presided over by Col (Dr) Smita Misra, Principal, who hoisted the National Flag along with Cadets of Class VI, Cdt Nyitiya Kath, Cdt Clara Thaijinliu Kamei, Cdt Aghapu I Chishi and Cdt Bumet William H. In her address, Col (Dr) Misra highlighted the importance of discipline, dedication and national pride in shaping the future leaders of India. She urged cadets to cultivate a deep sense of patriotism and take pride in the country’s rich heritage and achievements.

Joining the rest of the country in observing this year’s theme, “Naya Bharat,” the celebration featured thought-provoking speeches by Cdt Anisha and Cdt D Jashwant Rao.

To mark the occasion, the school organised a series of activities and competitions including Har Ghar Tiranga, flag-making, a cycle rally, poetry recitation, essay writing and paragraph writing. The officers, staff and cadets shared a special community meal in the Cadets’ Mess. Refreshments were also distributed to all cadets by the NL (I) Sainik School Coy NCC.
