DIMAPUR, MAY 19 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam formally inaugurated a new GA Rest House at Sakshi EAC Headquarter on May 18. The building was constructed under CAWD.
In his inaugural speech, the DC said that the people of Sakshi are fortunate to have such a big rest house in the remote corner of the district and at the same time he said that it’s not an easy task to manage and maintain big buildings in the outskirt. Therefore, in order to maintain the building properly, he informed that he will look forward to efficiently manage the rest house in his capacity.
Stating that the purpose of rest house was to provide opportunity and shelter to guests, the DC appealed to the staff and the public to provide comfortable stay to the visiting guests and also to extend full cooperation to the Government Officers posted in Sakshi. To attract and provide happy stay in the rest house, the DC called upon the gathering to maintain cleanliness with beautification of the building and surrounding as their personal property. He also urged them to use the rest house by catering to the needs of the visiting guests.
While lauding the officers and public of Sakshi for their contribution in conducting social works for improvement of roads damaged by landslides, the DC urged them to keep the collective cultural alive and to be well prepared in advance to face disasters that may be caused by the monsoon. He also assured that he will provide all possible assistance for reinstallation of the damaged staff quarters and DB court.
Earlier, invocation was proposed by the Pastor, Sakshi Baptist Church and the building was dedicated by the Pastor, Yimchung Baptist Church. Welcome address was proposed by Head DB Sakshi HQ while short speeches were delivered by PA to DC Longleng, VCC Yimchung and VCC Sakshi village respectively. The Program culminated with a vote of thanks by the Chairman of the program, S Longnyei Konyak EAC, Sakshi Headquarter. The program was attended by the functionaries and public of Sakshi circle.
