Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): The Department of Political Science, Salesian College of Higher Education, Dimapur, organized a seminar on the theme ‘Caste and Politics’ in the College auditorium on August 20, 2011. The seminar highlighted the interplay between caste and politics in the political sphere of India, and its consequences. The resource persons enlightened the different aspects of this interplay between politics and caste and its consequences for the political life of the nation.
The seminar was conducted under the competent direction and guidance of Ramesh Mahanty, lecturer in Political Science, and Juliana, another teaching faculty member of the College. The students of the Department of Political science did a commendable and praiseworthy work in really analyzing and bringing out the multidimensional features, effects, and consequences of the caste-based politics in the Indian political scenario.
