Tuensang, July 25 (MExN): Sao Chang College, Tuensang, on Saturday felicitated Nagaland University toppers and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) start-up achievers during a programme held at the college's multipurpose hall.
Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, attended the event as the guest speaker.
The programme was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr S Arenla and began with the college anthem, followed by the principal's welcome address. The college Music Club presented a special song.
The college's Student Support Committee honoured Nagaland University Science topper Jasmin Begom (Rank 1) and Mariya K Saji (Rank 2) with cash awards, certificates and mementoes.
Academic Excellence Awards were presented to Niukai in the Arts stream and Jasmin Begom in Science, while Arela of the History department received the Student of the Year Award.
Addressing the gathering, Mariya K Saji encouraged students to work hard and trust the process to achieve success.
The Entrepreneurship Development Centre also felicitated I Tochi Imlong and Natitolen Chang for their entrepreneurial achievements.
Sharing her journey from hobby to profession, Natitolen Chang urged students to develop their skills, remain curious and pursue innovation.
In her address, Rutsa congratulated the awardees and encouraged students to cultivate discipline, perseverance and a commitment to self-improvement, saying success depends on dedication rather than one's background.
The programme concluded with a prayer by Moa, Home Evangelist, PBC, Saksi 3rd NAP Battalion, followed by a vote of thanks proposed by Assistant Professor Akyuba Sangtam.
