Sao Chang College celebrates alumni day

Tuensang, April 14 (MExN): The Sao Chang College, Tuensang celebrated alumni day with the theme ‘Together to reach out’ on April 14. S Tainiu, Additional Secretary & Project Director of Focus Project, Government of Nagaland was the special guest.

Tainiu, who is also an alumnus of the college, in her speech said, “We should maintain right and accurate temperature of our home and society through warm heart and cool mind” and that “We must keep right attitude to decide the altitude of our life.” She encouraged the alumni to contribute and give time to support and strengthen the college as alumni association plays a pivotal role in the functioning of any institution. She also challenged the alumni and students presents in the programme with the slogan “if not us then who and if not now then when”. 

Tainiu encouraged all to inculcate positive attitude to achieve and do better as responsible citizens. She advised the alumni and students to stay away from negative influences but to build relationship through the company of good people. “We have to always think positive and keep counting the blessings and not the troubles in life. We must learned to live the present, forgive and forget the past and develop an attitude of gratitude and the habits of appreciating others to progress and live harmoniously in life,” she added.

The programme was chaired by Jongmo S Meyo, invocation prayer by Ongmang Chang, Pastor Yungkuk Baptist Church, welcome address by Longtichang Tzudir, Principal In-charge and special number by Hannah and Imtichuba and friends. The keynote address was delivered by L Shellem, President of Sao Chang College Alumni Association.

Yanglikumla Sangtam, Co-ordinator of Alumni Committee of the college highlighted various activities of the alumni committee in the college. Short speeches were also delivered by ADC Tuensang Thungchanbemo Tungoe, Toking, EAC, Ebou, BDO. Special number was presented by VI Semester students, vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Santosh Kumar Singh, Co-ordinator, IQAC and benediction prayer was pronounced by Rodila Sangtam, Youth Pastor, Sangtam Baptist Church, Saksi Tuensang.
