Sao Chang College hosts webinar on green audit and green initiative

Tuensang, September 23 (MExN): The Teacher’s Association and the Green Audit Committee of Sao Chang College, Tuensang jointly organized a webinar on the topic, ‘understanding green audit and green initiative’ on September 21.

The college in a press release said that the resource person was Amba Jamir, Policy Analyst and Consultant who is currently the Senior Consultant of Sustainable Landscapes and Restoration, WRI India; Executive Director, SDFN; Vice President of Integrated Mountain Initiative and Board Member of NESFAS. 

Jamir discussed policies, interventions and possibilities that could be adopted by the college while keeping in mind the requirements peculiar to one’s context. As he elaborated on the need for sustainable development, Jamir identified and recommended various steps that could be taken by the college and stressed on individual responsibility and accountability. 
The discussion laid emphasis on the process of green auditing which is an important prerequisite in order to better understand and to track one’s carbon footprint, it stated.
The webinar was chaired by Dipak Nath, President, SCC Teacher’s Association.
