Sao Chang College observes World Museum Day

Tuensang, March 27 (MExN): The Department of History, Sao Chang College, held an advance observance of World Museum Day at its Tribal Museum on March 27, based on the theme ‘Museums Uniting a Divided World.’

The programme was chaired by Assistant Professor Bachu Yhoshii, with Principal Dr Lanurenla attending as the special guest.

In her welcome address, Head of Department K Chongliu Khiamniungan said, “museums are dynamic spaces that preserve heritage while fostering unity and dialogue.”

Assistant Professor Langnyei Imlichuba Phom spoke on the history and purpose of the Tribal Museum.

The programme also featured presentations on traditional Naga morungs by 6th semester students. Liang presented on the Khiamniungan morung, Imti Mongba on the Chang morung, and Arela on the Sangtam morung, highlighting both general features and distinctive aspects of each.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Assistant Professor Alitoli Sumi.
