SASA 59th Annual Games & Sports Meet 2021 ends

Kigwema wins men’s football; Kidima bags women‘s volleyball trophy

Kigwema was declared the champions of men’s football at the 59th Annual Games & Sports Meet 2021 of Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA), which concluded on February 23.

Kigwema defeated Kidima 3-1 in men football finals to lift the trophy.

Vichüsa Sale of Kigwema and Nothongol Zhotso of Jakhama have been declared as the player of the tournament and best goal keeper respectively.

Dupisa Pucho of Kidima earned the distinction of the highest scorer with 11 goals.

In women‘s volleyball, Kidima bagged the champion title.

In finals, Kidima overpowered Kezo Town 25-18, 15- 17, 25-18.

In individual excellence, Edikunu Rikha of Kidima and Kezevile of Kezo town bagged the best spiker and best setter title respectively.

The two day long meet took place at two locations - Jakhama Local Ground and JGHSS Ground Viswema.

Tepunol Yore, District Project Officer, Wokha (Land Resources Department) graced the closing ceremony and gave away prize to the winners.

The closing function was chaired by SASA women coordinator Banuo Veronica Angami while vote of thanks was proposed by SASA treasurer- Ketobu Vitsu.

Kohima Town Club and Kohima District Volleyball Referee Association officiated the football and volleyball matches respectively.
