SASU on Dzukou valley

The Southern Angami Students’ Union (SASU) ridicules and slammed the news item that appeared in a section of local media, carrying reports on claim made by the people and Government of Manipur over Dzukou Valley.

Questioning the effort made by the people of Manipur, particularly by the so called “Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association’ (MMTA) on claiming Dzukou as a part of Manipur, SASU rubbishes the claim of the MMTA, as the same Association has in the year 2004, obtained a written permission to go to the valley, submitting a volition application to SASU, acknowledging the legitimate possession of the Southern Angamis over Dzukou valley.

Needless to mention, many large and mass based organizing visiting Dzukou, from Manipur has on their own accord also acknowledge the same. Piqued by the regular interference and attempts made by the people of Manipur to encroached the famed valley; over the legitimate territory of the Southern Angamis, “ SASU will not ill effort to sit ideally and let off even an inch of its land and territory that has been  daringly protected and handed down to the present generation by our forefathers”.

The people and communities of the Manipur state have proved to be a malevolent (minded) neighbor. They rob our properties, abduct innocent Nagas, mercilessly tortures and kill us without rhyme and reasons, and have being making baseless effort to encroach and snatch our lands.

SASU have evidence of certain Naga communities in the state of Manipur constantly conniving with and abetting the Manipuri’s claim over the valley.

If (Naga) communities from the south continue to harbour and exercise such ‘double standard’ identity and policy of integration, over of patient bearing of brotherhood and nationhood, we (Southern Angamis) will not effort to remain hush, “our patience and spirit of accommodation has being taken for a ride too long; we will retaliate with the same degree and action for all the wrongs and betrayals that have inflicted upon us.”

SASU, which has being issuing entry permissions and implementing the code of conducts to the valley goers for its protection and upkeep, on behalf of the Southern Angamis, will henceforth, not entertain and allow any individual/party/organization/association from the state of Manipur to go to Dzukou valley, for the constant and intentional violations of our laid rules and regulations, unless proper rectification and apology from the people and Government of Manipur is being made to the Southern Angami Students Union or Southern Angami Public Organization. Any attempt or breach to this order, will invite heavy casualties for which we will not be held accountable.
