DIMAPUR, JUNE 16 (MExN): A 10-year old girl, Atsula Kips for whom a group of young people has been seeking donations for the last 40 days has left for Delhi to undergo a major heart operation.
Atsula, daughter of a Pastor from Chessore, Tuensang was diagnosed with a major heart problem when she was just three months old. Her parents could not afford to meet the finances required of the multiple operation. The expense for the first operation was met by a missionary from America. However, when the parents were told that few more operations were needed on the child requiring huge amount of money, they lost all hope. It was at this time that a team of young people formed a group called “Common Ground” and started seeking donations from people. Within 40 days, the group received donation amounting to Rs 7, 83, 377.
The group along with the child and her parents have left for Delhi Saturday night for the operation to be conducted on June 21 at Fortis Escort Heart Institute.
The group and the parents of the child have appealed everyone to uphold Atsula in their prayers. Father of the child has thanked everyone for coming forward with material, physical, financial and prayer support.
