DIMAPUR, JULY 18 (MExN): The Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) has taken serious note on what it termed as the exorbitant demands in the name of annual Tax served to small time business establishment under its jurisdiction by different Naga national organizations and NGOs during recent times. A press note issued by S. Peter Zhashiimo President SAYO has informed that the Union after thorough deliberation, it was unanimously resolved that such exorbitant demand from small time businessmen in its jurisdiction can’t be tolerated, as they are mere villager who runs their small businesses as an additional income apart from their traditional farming to meet their ends.
“Most of these shops/business establishments are run by the villagers and opened only in the morning and evening before they go to their field and after their returns from their respective fields so as to supplement their income”. In this regard, the SAYO after thorough deliberation during its meeting today resolved that no such unreasonable tax payment shall be made to any organizations or NGOs under its jurisdiction.
