Peren, August 23 (MExN): Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Peren conducted the valedictory programme for its 132nd batch for bamboo and cane craft making programme on August 21. 

RSETI Peren is an initiative of the GOI funded by MoRD and SBI which provides skill-based training with free food and lodging to generate self-employment opportunities, informed a press release issued by Novin Basumatary, Director, SBI-RSETI Peren.

Altogether 28 rural youths participated in the 13-day programme which provided step by step training on making of bamboo sofa set and other furniture using bamboo. 

The valedictory programme was graced by S Sarma, BM, SBI Jalukie, Lt Col M K Konyak, 2IC, 36 AR Jalukie and Ziudi, Village Chairman, Mhainamtsi. The guests in their address motivated the trainees to work hard and also provided guidance on various self-employment ventures and bank linkages. 

The Director in his welcome address acknowledged the Assam Rifles, Jalukie for mobilising the rural unemployed youths to avail the free residential training facilities provided by RSETI.

Basumatary also shared about how the Institute, since 2011 has been providing free skill-based training to the rural youths of Nagaland in order to improve their livelihood through self-employment ventures or wage employment. He encouraged the trainees to be dedicated in their endeavour and be a brand ambassador of the Institute.
