SCHE conduct e-waste management and career counselling programme

Dimapur, February 18 (MExN): The Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE), Dimapur conducted e-waste management and career counselling on February 17 and 18.

On February, SCHED conducted an electronic waste management programme with resource persons, Bendangwala Walling and Sowete-u Letro, from e-CIRCLE; waste management agency in Nagaland (Electronic & electrical waste), authorized by the Nagaland Pollution Control Board. The students were instructed how to manage waste and dispose them in the right way.

Earlier, Fr Dr Paul Punii, Principal gave the welcome address while Asst Professor, Talisangla Jamir in-charge of Eco and Environmental Club gave an introduction to the programme. 

On February 18, career guidance was conducted for the 6th semester students in collaboration with NEISSR, (North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research). 

Elizabeth Pojar, Asst Professor, NEISSR highlighted the importance of career prospects and challenges faced by the youths. She emphasized on the need of practical knowledge and skilled knowledge as theory alone is not sufficient in today’s world. She elaborated on the difficulties faced by the youths of Nagaland in particular and North-East in general mainly due to lack of practical experiences.

Pojar briefly explained how NEISSR provides a two years course with 3 days of theory class and 2 days of practical works. Three students from their institution also shared about their personal experiences in NEISSR. James Thangvangkhuol from 6th sem gave a vote of thanks.
