DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 15 (MExN): SD Jain Girls’ College celebrated its 19th Annual freshers’ social cum annual day on Saturday, October 15. Additional Chief Secretary & Finance Commissioner, Toshi Aier graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Aier in his address, dwelling on the duties and responsibilities of a student reminded that it revolves around hard work. By simply wishing they will achieve something worthwhile in life will remain a pipedream, if it is not backed up by hard work. “There is no substitute to hard work,” he said. Welcoming the same time all the freshers, who have come from different schools and backgrounds to become a part of the family (college), he expressed hope that they will do justice to the reputation of the college. Now, that they are an integral part of the college, the students’ primary objective must be to maintain, if not go a notch higher, the benchmark set by their predecessors, he said. Life in itself is a process of schooling, starting from the cradle to the grave. The time honoured responsibility of a student in the process of acquiring knowledge, which is something infinite, will revolve around hard work, he reminded further.
The college also took the opportunity of giving away academic awards to students, who cleared this year’s HSSLC and degree examinations in 1st class, conducted by the NBSE and NU respectively.
