The Eastern Naga Student Federation (ENSF) today come out strongly to its earlier stand not to allow the Socio Economic Caste Census 2011 in Eastern Naga areas after deliberating at length at its emergency Federating unit presidential meeting at its headquarter Tuensang today which is one of the national program where Rural Development department is the nodal agency.
Officials of the ENSF while interacting with this correspondent over the phone from its headquarter Tuensang said, ‘SECC 2011 will not be allowed in the Eastern Naga areas as the program is initiated by the state government because in many instances state government has victimised the Eastern Naga people under the pretext of development, therefore, only after GoN invite the concern officials from the ministry concern GOI and have a consultative meeting with the ENSF, the ENSF will not allow the SECC 2011 in the Eastern Naga Areas also added, the ENSF may allow this exercise only after the consultative meeting with the officers from Ministry GOI’.
Queried on any intimation or steps taken by the GoN after non co-operation launched by the ENSF the officials said, so far the federation has received no official intimation from the state government except the earlier official letter from the Commissioner and Secretary Rural Development which is not at all convincing the officials added’.
On being asked about any fear psychosis from her citizens as the people of the other district are going on with full swing in this exercise the officials said, ‘People are with us and we are doing for the welfare of the people so there is no any fear psychosis in the mind of the people’.
