Dimapur, July 21 (MExN): Security Forces iapprehended two persons and recovered arms and ammunition in Dimapur and Peren districts.
According to a press release from the HQ IGAR (N) on Wednesday, one individual was apprehended with illegal liquor at Sachu Colony, Dimapur on July 18 in a joint operation with State police. The team recovered illegal liquor worth approximately Rs 1 lakh and Rs 63,360, it said. The apprehended individual along with recovered liquor and cash has been handed over to West Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation.
On the same day, a joint operation was carried out in High School Colony, Dimapur wherein a cadre of NSCN (IM) was apprehended and one .32 pistol with magazine and one mobile phone was recovered. The apprehended individual along with recovered items has been handed over to East Police Station, Dimapur.
In a separate press release, the PRO (Def) Kohima informed that security forces in an operation recovered one.22 pistol with 40 rounds of live ammunition and incriminating documents near Midland Colony, Jalukie under Peren district on July 19. Other than stating that the recovered items have been handed over to Jalukie Police Station, for further investigation, no related arrests or other details were mentioned in the press release.
