Kohima, July 7 (MExN): Security Forces in a joint operation with State Police apprehended cadres of several Naga political groups from July 4 to 6.
According to a press release from the PRO (Def) Kohima, a joint operation was carried out near general area Porba village under Phek district on July 4 where two active cadres of NSCN (K) and one cadre of NNC (NPGN) were apprehended.
“Based on a specific input, Security Forces in a joint operation with State Police apprehend the cadres and recovered one .38 Revolver, 12 rounds of .38 revolver live ammunition, one AK-47 rifle and 14 rounds of live ammunition and one Bolero near general area Porba village, Phek district, Nagaland,” the release stated. The apprehended individuals along with recovered items have been handed over to Pfütsero Police Station for further investigation.
In another incident on July 5, based on a specific input, Security Forces in a joint operation with State Police apprehended the cadre of NSCN (IM) and recovered one .32mm pistol with a magazine and two rounds of live ammunition near general area Old Market, Jalukie in Peren district. The apprehended individual along with recovered items has been handed over to Jalukie Police Station, for further investigation, the PRO (Def) Kohima stated.
Meanwhile, on July 6, Security Forces in a joint operation with Police apprehended a cadre of NSCN (KN) near general area Hoito village in Dimapur district.
The release stated that it also recovered one 7.62 mm AK Rifle with three magazines and 54 rounds of live ammunition, one 9 mm pistol with two magazines and 18 rounds of live ammunition, one .22 rifle magazine and one round of live ammunition and one Chinese grenade in general area Hoito village.
The apprehended individual along with recovered items has been handed over to Diphupar Police Station, Dimapur district for further investigation, it added.
