Chümoukedima, April 1 (MExN): Authorities have imposed stringent security restrictions in Chümoukedima district in view of the transit journey of a VVIP on April 2, an official order stated here on Wednesday.
Commissioner of Police Dimapur Aotula T Imchen IAS declared the entire Chümoukedima district as a “Red Zone” (No Fly Zone) from 6 am to 6 pm on April 2, prohibiting the use of any kind of remotely piloted aircraft or drones.
The restrictions have been imposed under Rule 24 of the Drone Rules, 2021 and Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
The order also restricted the conduct of any kind of firing practice by security forces, civil police, central police, private firing ranges or any civilian holder of licensed firearms. Bursting of firecrackers has also been prohibited during the same period.
“As the notice cannot be served individually on all concerned, the order is, hereby, passed ex-parte due to security exigency,” the order stated.
It further stated that the order shall be published for information of the public through the press and by affixing copies on the notice boards of the offices of all Deputy Commissioners of Police, Additional Deputy Commissioners of Police, Assistant Commissioners of Police and police stations.
