Sekrenyi Mini-Hornbill Fest in Kohima from February 25

A three-day Sekrenyi Mini-Hornbill festival will start from February 25 at Khuochiezie, Kohima Local Ground under the theme "Restoring Values" from 11:00 AM onwards.
Sekrenyi, also known as ‘Phousanyi' is the premier festival of the Angami Nagas.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will be the chief host while Sumi Hoho president Hekhushe Shikhu will be the Honoured Guest of the festival.
Tenyimi tribes of Nagaland (Chakhesang, Pochury, Rengma and Zeliang) will grace the festival as special guest.
Kohima deputy commissioner Gregory Thejawelie Sote will deliver welcome address while Angami Public Organization (APO) president Dr Kepelhusie Terhiija will highlight the significance of Sekrenyi.
Nagaland’s youth resources and sports advisor Er Zale Neikha will also share greetings.
Vote of thanks will be proposed by Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) administrator Kovi Meyase.
The formal function will be followed by inauguration of stalls by honoured guest, indigenous games competition (War Cry, Tug of War, Fixed jump and Stilt Bamboo walk) and Sekrenyi feast.
The festival will go on till February 27.
